The beautiful Dina Van Gelder (Barbara Payton) is married to a wealthy plantation owner deep in the South American jungle. Coveting Dina, the plantation's manager (Raymond Burr) kills the owner, only to fall victim to a curse as punishment for doing the dastardly deed. A superstitious policeman (Lon Chaney) investigating the death realizes that something is not as it seems and finally sorts out the situation.
Trivia: Raymond Burr is best known for his role as Ironside, in the 1970s TV series of the same name. Character actor Woody Strode (the Policeman Nedo) was a star football player and decathlete at UCLA. He was one of the first four black players in the NFL and a close friend of director John Ford, playing in four of Ford's films as well as Spartacus.
