Six year old Michael Myers is placed in a sanitarium after stabbing his teenage sister to death. 15 years later he escapes and on Halloween day, he arrives back in his hometown. He runs across teenager Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) as she makes plans for Halloween night with her friends and begins to stalk her.

Trivia: Independently produced for $325,000 the film made over $70million. Jamie Lee Curtis went on to stardom in such films as Trading Places, True Lies and A Fish Called Wanda.
